Marco Sørensen started racing his first gokart in an age of 3 years. Since then Marco became successful in karting and the following Formula series. In 2009 Marco got signed as development driver by Renault F1 and jumped straight from Formula Ford and ADAC Formula Masters to the Formula Renault 2,0 Eurocup. Due to the economical conditions of the Renault F1 team, the development program was closed down in the following year after. With almost no financial support Marco was fighting his way through 2010 without a contract and no place to drive.

After seven months Marco finally got his chance as stand-in at Nürburgring. In a rainy qualify Marco secured the first pole position for his team and manufacture and followed up with podium results in the races. His strong performance got seen and Marco secured the seat in the German Formula 3 in 2011 and became the vice champion. In 2012 Marco got signed as Lotus F1 Development driver in 2012 and raced with Lotus in the Formula Renault 3,5 World Series in two years with several pole positions, podiums and wins. In the second half of the 2014 season Marco switched to the GP2 championship and won in Sochi as best result.

As driver Marco is known for his speed, constancy and ability to give precise feedback for his engineers. Fighting against financial struggles has left Marco as underdog in a lot of racing series and forced him to deliver good results in less developed cars. In 2015 Marco is part of Lotus F1 development and will be racing in the GP2 series, aiming for the championship.
